Category Lead - ICT Experience - Global Mining Company - Min 12 months
This global mining company has a variety of exciting initiatives and projects in the ICT space.
These can range from networking, communication, decarbonisation etc. They are looking for a Category Lead in their ICT space.
The purpose of this role is to provide expert advice and execute Technology Category Management activities in line with category and sourcing plans to increase productivity, lower costs, manage risks and unlock organisational value safely and sustainably.
Specific accountabilities
- Deliver a set of strategies on how the organisation procures key IT categories in the most optimal way in terms of quality, cost, and speed to market to achieve industry leading performance
- Be accountable for the full IT contracting process from initiation through implementation. This includes negotiating contract terms in collaboration with our Legal team
- Actively mitigate risk in collaboration with Legal and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Manage multiple contract priorities across various countries and stakeholders simultaneously
- Where needed, run market tenders and/or negotiations to further reduce spend in conjunction with our IT team
- Track and report on planned and validate achieved savings targets
- Identify and manage relationships with key suppliers, evaluate performance on a regular basis to ensure that we are getting value for money and supplier performance is in line with our expectations
- Work collaboratively with colleagues at Group, Regional and Country level to ensure Procurement is supporting them to deliver against their business plans.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
- Extensive business experience, working in procurement function on IT Hardware and Services ideally in a global setting
- Experience managing a set of commercial categories across a region, or a category
- Thorough understanding of IT services and procurement best practices
- Strong Business Acumen and analytical skills
- Strong organisation, time, and project management skills
- Microsoft Suite Competency: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
This role offers the opportunity to work on some highly innovative projects. On offer is a salary in the region of $180k (incl bonus) + super together with a fully flexible week including working from home 2 or 3 days a week.
