Support how people and safety show up across a growing business
We’re adding a new role to support continued growth, and opportunity for someone who wants to drive consistency across sites - lifting safety, people and operational standards across a growing multi-site business.
You’ll be in the business, working directly with leaders to navigate people matters, maintain high safety standards, and improve how work gets done. Combine hands-on business partnering with coordination and system ownership — ideal for someone who enjoys being close to operations while keeping the detail tight and moving.
You’ll be part of our GM Enablement function, with visibility to leadership and a genuine seat at the table in shaping how safety and people evolves.
About Us
The Pastoral Pork Company (Otway Pork) is a premium, ethical pork producer with a clear growth agenda across domestic and international markets. Our focus is simple: quality product, strong partnerships, and disciplined execution.
We are in a growth phase — expanding boxed, value-added and branded products across butcher, food service, retail and wholesale channels.
The Role in Practice
Partner with leaders
Work directly with site leaders to drive safety and people capability uplift, ensuring consistent, effective operations and compliance with legislative obligations. You'll provide clear, practical guidance — and expect follow-through. Be comfortable having the conversations others avoid and coaching leaders to do the same.
Support people and safety outcomes
Support the operational delivery of all safety and people processes, maintaining high compliance and improvements aligned to the strategic plan.
You will support across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and employee relations, managing matters end-to end. Lead or support investigations with clear documentation and outcomes, applying Fair Work Act, NES and Awards, Workplace Safety and Food Safety requirements with confidence and pragmatism.
Through active collaboration the business partner enhances team capability, performance and engagement while supporting the GM Enablement to deliver strategic initiatives and key projects.
Evolve systems
Maintain the HRIS and safety systems, reporting and action tracking — data integrity matters. Maintain policies, documentation and audit readiness, support payroll inputs and timekeeping accuracy.
Support leaders to take ownership of safety and our behavioural framework — leading mindset and behaviour change, working within the business to coordinate RTW and workers compensation processes, close the loop on incidents, corrective actions and process improvements.
Communicate and connect
Support safety and people activities, preparing and delivering clear, direct employee and safety communications including toolboxes, meetings, presentations and process support. Coach managers, keeping messaging simple, consistent and grounded in reality.
Support our cultural engagement across a diverse multi-lingual workforce.
