About The Role
As a Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance Officer you'll ensure that our specialist products – from industrial PPE to wildlands firefighting garments – meet the highest safety, compliance and quality standards. This role blends technical expertise and stakeholder engagement, overseeing certification processes, audits and risk mitigation while driving continuous improvement. You'll liaise with global certification bodies, support product development and educate teams, making quality a competitive advantage.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop, implement and monitor compliance processes to guarantee all products meet legislative, industry and WWG standards.
* Conduct regular audits and reviews, analysing testing data to confirm certification for safety footwear and specialist apparel (e.g., FR and wildlands garments).
* Liaise with international and local certification bodies to obtain, validate and maintain licences and schedules for certified products.
* Create and maintain testing matrices and technical documentation, ensuring trims and components meet certification requirements and are tracked in a library database.
* Deliver technical guidance and training for internal teams, suppliers and factories to embed compliance and testing standards across the supply chain.
* Partner with Fabric R&D, Tech, Merch & Sourcing teams to provide expert advice on technical requirements and risk mitigation strategies during product development.
* Assist in pre‑production analysis, identify risk and recommend strategies for mitigation.
* Enforce quality protocols throughout production, oversee inspections and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and regulatory standards.
* Analyse customer returns and complaints, prepare formal quality assessment reports and conduct root‑cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
* Maintain accurate compliance records, including audits and equipment calibration logs, ensuring ongoing adherence to ISO and AU/NZ standards.
Who We're Looking For
* Strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork.
* Openness to coaching, self‑reflection and growth.
* Accountability for actions, emotions and willingness to step beyond comfort zones.
* Embrace innovation, take calculated risks and inspire others.
* Ability to build meaningful relationships; balancing commercial goals with customer satisfaction.
* Demonstrated honesty and integrity in all interactions.
What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's degree or relevant certification in Apparel/Textiles, Engineering or Quality System Management.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar quality management role with a strong background in workwear apparel (footwear compliance experience desirable).
* Ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
* Proven project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Confidence and clarity in engaging with external stakeholders, ensuring expectations and requirements are communicated effectively.
* Industry connections with bodies such as educational institutions, testing facilities and Standards Australia (desirable).
What We Offer
* The chance to join a great team of like‑minded, hard‑working people passionate about achieving our vision.
* Flexible working environment – work from home 2–3 days each week.
* A competitive salary package and suite of benefits, including a 50% discount on our brands Hard Yakka, KingGee and NNT, and a 5% Wesfarmers discount for Kmart, Bunnings, Officeworks and more.
* A tailored career and development plan, plus reward and recognition programs – whatever your goals we're here to support you.
* Our Wellbeing program, Thrive, with activities designed to support financial wellness, celebrate diversity, get physical and maintain healthy minds – including challenges, yoga, meditation and access to an Employee Assistance Program.
* We Learn, a dedicated hub for all things learning and development.
