Kaisercraft is looking for a Finance Assistant & Payroll Officer to join our head office team in Geelong.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an integral part in assisting with the accurate and timely completion of various finance functions, and payroll.
Payroll Key Responsibilities:
* Reconcile weekly timesheet information, leave requests and allowances;
* Process end-to-end weekly pay runs, STP, leave accruals and payments, PAYG withholding, WorkCover payments, terminations, and superannuation payments;
* Monitor payroll inbox, and assist with payroll related enquiries from employees, management and external stakeholders;
* Supporting reconciliations, and compliance activities;
* Posting payroll transactions to the General Ledger;
* Prepare ad hoc reports as required, and work closely with HR, Finance, and management.
* Basic understanding of FairWork, WorkCover, Retail Award and Individual Flexibility Arrangements an advantage;
Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities:
* Banking transactions and reconciliations across multiple bank accounts;
* Reconcile store sales, cash and EFTPOS transactions;
* Daily statement posting;
* Investigations of refunds;
* Investigate and reconcile cash variances;
* Assist with annual sales audit reconciliations;
* Assist stores and external customers with enquiries via phone and email;
* Accounts receivable reconciliations;
* Assist with month end reporting;
* Processing of General Journals;
* Assist with ad hoc reporting and general administrative support as needed.
What we are looking for:
* Computer knowledge (Outlook, Excel, or accounting software proficiency);
* Analytical thinking, with a proactive solutions-focused mindset;
* Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to new environments;
* Good organisational and time management skills;
* Basic understanding of/qualification in accounting principles;
* Experience in payroll preferable (retail would be an advantage);
* ·Ability to meet strict deadlines with high attention to detail and accuracy;
* Excellent communication skills;
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
* Knowledge of Business Central and/or MicroKeeper an advantage but not required;
This is a full time, on-premise role, that would suit a Payroll officer with willingness to take on a finance role; or an accounting graduate with an interest in and willingness to learn Payroll.
