Kennedy Agriculture has several farming operations in New South Wales and Victoria. The property where this role will be based is situated north west of Griffith and west of Tabbita in the Riverina.

About the Role
This is a key operational and leadership role, suited to an experienced and motivated farm professional who can manage people, production, and performance in a complex and dynamic agricultural business.
The Assistant Farm Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, planning, and performance of the farm. This includes crop production, staff supervision, machinery operation and maintenance and adherence to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
The role requires strong technical expertise in broadacre cropping systems, leadership skills to manage people and contractors, and sound business judgment to ensure efficient and profitable farm operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planning and executing irrigated and dry land cropping programs
* Work closely with the businesses agronomic advisor
* Daily coordination of staff and machinery
* Oversee irrigation scheduling and water management
* Monitor crop health, pests, and nutrition
* Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
* Support WHS compliance and record keeping
* Contribute to farm improvement projects and seasonal planning
* Monitor input costs, yields, and operational efficiency
* Maintain accurate records for agronomy, mechanical and maintenance
Skills & Experience
* Experience in irrigated or broadacre cropping (cotton, rice, cereals, canola, pulses, etc.)
* Confident operating modern tractors, harvesters, spray rigs, and machinery
* Knowledge of irrigation systems (channels, pumps, siphons, etc.)
* Strong communication and leadership ability
* Good record-keeping and basic computer skills
* A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
* Driver's licence essential; HR/HC or machinery tickets desirable
