Bombala High School is a small rural comprehensive high school currently with 147 students, located in the southeast of New South Wales at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. The school's mission is to provide pathways to success for our students and teachers. The school is currently undertaking an exciting curriculum redesign to ensure that our lessons and programs meet the needs of students in a changing world.Some of these initiatives include multi-disciplinary subjects in Stage 4 (Civics and STEM), as well as integrated elective options in Stage 5. Our Stage 6 students are supported through accessing a broad curriculum online via Aurora, TAFE EVET and Launchpad and through Distance Education. Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria:
· Extensive knowledge and expertise of the English and/or HSIE and/or CAPA curriculum with capacity to lead the development and implementation of an innovative interdisciplinary curriculum.
· Understanding of current evidence-based pedagogical practices, with demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of quality teaching learning programs which result in student engagement and growth.
· Ability to be a collaborative member of the school's executive team and take leadership of whole school vision and goals
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to forge close relationships with students, staff and the broader community.
General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4.
