Social Media Officer
Join ADF Careers in an exciting role to use social media to connect Australians with a meaningful defence career.
Base Pay Range
$80,******/yr – $90,******/yr
Job Summary
Shape recruitment for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) by managing our online community.
Nurture audiences, promote events and share authentic stories across social channels.

You will
Monitor ADF Careers social media channels daily, responding to comments, questions and messages in a timely, professional manner.
Help nurture an engaged and positive community, ensuring all interactions meet our standards and reflect our mission.
Promote and advertise ADF Careers events and information sessions across social channels, ensuring accuracy.
Assist with the creation and scheduling of posts, stories and updates for social media platforms, growing your creative skills.
Track and report on community engagement, sharing insights and opportunities for improvement.
Stay current on social media trends and community management best practices, suggesting new ways to connect with audiences.
Support the team with projects and activities as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate's Profile
We're looking for someone who is passionate about social media and thrives on connecting with people. Proactive mindset, willingness to learn and ability to manage multiple priorities are key.
Background will demonstrate
Passion for social media and community engagement, with a good understanding of how platforms work.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
Great communication skills – in responding to questions and representing the ADF Careers brand positively.
Strong organisational skills, staying on top of deadlines and campaign schedules.
A collaborative approach to building professional relationships and working within a team.
A genuine eagerness to learn, grow skills and take on new responsibilities over time.
Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, business or a related field are highly regarded but not essential.
Requirements
Australian citizen.
Ability to maintain an Australian AGSVA security clearance.
