Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter – Permanent Role (Kilcoy) $50 per hour Super Full-time | Onsite | Kilcoy QLD Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter looking for a stable, long-term role with great pay and a supportive team? We’re seeking a skilled tradesperson to join a leading facility in Kilcoy. This is a permanent position offering competitive hourly rates, reliable hours, and the opportunity to work with modern plant, equipment and machinery. About the Role You will play a key role in maintaining plant operations, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. You will work closely with maintenance, production, and operations teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the site. Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs and servicing across a wide range of plant equipment Diagnose faults, conduct troubleshooting, and respond to urgent breakdowns promptly Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime Work on boilers, pumps, conveyors, compressors, refrigeration equipment and automation machinery Complete welding and fabrication tasks (MIG, TIG, ARC) Maintain food safety and workplace hygiene standards at all times Update maintenance systems (MEX / JD Edwards) and prepare breakdown reports Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, operators and fellow maintenance staff Support installation of new machinery and equipment Work in accordance with WHS requirements, including confined space and zero-harm principles About You Must be located near Kilcoy currently Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner Experience in the meat, food manufacturing, or industrial processing sector preferred Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work under pressure Competent in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics and general mechanical repairs Experience with boilers, refrigeration, pumps or automation equipment highly regarded Able to work independently or as part of a team Safety-focused with excellent communication skills Qualifications & Tickets (highly desirable) Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade High Risk Licences (LF, WP, BS) Confined Space & Breathing Apparatus First Aid & CPR White Card Welding competencies Benefits Permanent, full-time role $50 per hour super (neg on experience) Strong team culture with long-term job stability Variety of work across projects, upgrades and maintenance Opportunity to work at a well-established Kilcoy facility How to Apply If you’re a hands-on Maintenance Fitter looking for stability and great earning potential, we’d love to hear from you.
