Join a dynamic team as a Space Domain Awareness Systems Professional at our RAAF base location.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the critical outcomes of the Australian Defence Force by delivering complex, state-of-the-art programs designed to keep Australia safe.
You will work across multiple operating systems, Windows, Linux and Unix to ensure the continued operation of the Battlespace Surveillance Centre (BSC) at the RAAF Edinburgh base.
Your responsibilities will include managing and maintaining mission system services, performing day-to-day operational and administrative tasks, monitoring system availability and capacity, incident management, problem diagnoses and resolution, backups/patch management and cyber security while complying with change management procedures and working in a defence environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical operations for BSC's complex IT server and communication solutions that comply with Raytheon and Defence technical standards and security policies.
* Manage system accounts, permissions and directory operations and ensure service delivery staff have the necessary up-to-date information for account administration activities.
* Provide technical input into the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans & Business Continuity Plans for server and communication infrastructure.
* Monitor system performance.
* Manage software installation, configuration and updates for operating systems, firmware, and software applications including security updates as directed by configuration management authority.
* Perform system and network configuration maintenance.
* Manage backup and recovery protocols.
* Install and manage firewall and intrusion-detection monitoring systems.
Requirements:
* Certificate IV/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in a Systems Administration 2nd / 3rd Level support role (UNIX, Linux and Microsoft).
* Experience in monitoring a complex IT environment.
* Experience in diagnosing networking fault.
