Senior Assistant Manager | Norfolk Tavern
Norfolk Tavern is one of the busiest and most loved pubs in the area—and we're looking for a senior, experienced Assistant Manager to step into a true 2IC role. If you're ready to take ownership, lead big shifts, and be the right hand to the Venue Manager, this is your moment.
This isn't an entry-level AM role. We need someone confident, capable, and ready to steer the venue when it counts.
A day in the life of a Senior Assistant Manager:
* Running major shifts across bar, bistro, gaming & functions
* Acting as the Venue Manager's trusted second-in-charge
* Leading large teams through peak trade with confidence
* Maintaining venue standards, compliance & operational excellence
* Driving a strong, consistent guest experience
* Owning training, development & team culture
* Supporting rostering, performance, and daily venue operations
Inherent requirements:
* This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About you:
* You've been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
* You've learned from great managers and now you're ready to step up
* You've got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
* You've got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
