Join us to make a difference as we embark on our next stage.About the service: The Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) service model is tailored to the needs of the local community, offering a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress. It includes both operational and service delivery responsibilities, with the goal of ensuring all individuals in the priority groups can access the support and services they need.Responsibilities include:Supporting all cultural governance activities, including collaboration with the Community Engagement CoordinatorPromoting the service, maintaining communication, and building relationships with program partners and stakeholdersProviding individual support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Pacific Islander, and Maori people and familiesCollaborating with local Elders and communities to create culturally appropriate referral pathways into head to HealthProviding cultural support and training for non-Indigenous staff as requiredRequirements:Ideally tertiary education in Education, Community Development, or a health-related sectorExperience in roles such as Health Promotion Officer, Community Development, Mental Health provider, or service providerUnderstanding and passion for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their familiesStrong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to work with diverse stakeholdersKnowledge of early intervention principles for youth mental healthAbility to work collaboratively to plan and coordinate psychosocial interventionsAbility to work autonomouslyAdvanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Mastercare, CMS, IT systems)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust hold a Blue Card and be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearanceMust operate a C class motor vehicleStride is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable people.
