Where you'll be working

Join a passionate, multidisciplinary team at the New England Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (NEBIRS) – a community-based specialist service dedicated to supporting people aged 0–65 who have sustained an acquired brain injury, most often traumatic in nature.

Based in beautiful New England, you'll be part of a regional outreach team that helps clients transition from hospital to home and community life. We work in partnership with clients, families, and carers to deliver tailored, person-centred rehabilitation that restores independence, participation, and quality of life.

About the role

We're seeking an experienced Physiotherapist who's ready to bring expertise, compassion, and creativity to this diverse and rewarding role.

You'll provide specialist assessment, rehabilitation, and case management for clients across the region - supporting recovery and community reintegration every step of the way.

In this role, you will:

* Deliver physiotherapy across a variety of settings – from transitional living units and client homes to community environments and via virtual care.
* Manage a complex community caseload guided by the NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (BIRP) principles.
* Collaborate closely within an interdisciplinary team and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders such as iCare, CTP insurers, and private rehabilitation providers.
* Contribute to community education and provide expert advice across the local health district.

This position includes travel throughout the New England region as part of our outreach model – with travel time and vehicles provided.

About you

You're a compassionate, adaptable Physiotherapist who finds purpose in helping people rebuild their lives after brain injury. You bring:

* Demonstrated experience managing complex rehabilitation caseloads
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
* A commitment to evidence-based, culturally respectful, and person-centred care
* Experience mentoring or supporting others (highly regarded)

What we offer

* A comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development in specialist brain injury rehabilitation
* Supportive leadership and access to experienced peers across NSW Brain Injury Units
* Opportunities to participate in statewide clinical networks, research, and education
* Regular supervision and a strong commitment to staff wellbeing, flexibility, and career growth

Requirements:

* Essential Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership of Australian Physiotherapy Association
* Current eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances
