Job Description
As the State Transport & Warehouse Manager you will oversee all transport and warehouse operations in Queensland. You will manage day‑to‑day operations, drive continuous improvement, maintain compliance and deliver operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the state transport and warehouse teams to achieve performance targets.
- Oversee fleet operations, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure timely service delivery.
- Maintain safety and compliance standards in line with NHVR, CoR, and OHS regulations.
- Monitor and control operational budgets, driving cost efficiencies and financial performance.
- Foster strong customer relationships and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
- Liaise with internal departments to align operational goals and ensure effective communication.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork.
- Oversee staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to company procedures.
- Maintain accurate warehouse stock control and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in transport and warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of compliance and safety frameworks (NHVR, CoR, OHS).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive performance and implement process improvements.
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
- Experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and operational systems such as Power BI.
- Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to undertake).
- Experience managing teams.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Robust safety mindset.
