Reporting to the Office/Administration Manager, the Junior Receptionist will support our Port Adelaide offices by ensuring a professional, organised and welcoming front-of-house experience.
Key responsibilities include:
* Greet and welcome visitors, participants and stakeholders in a professional and friendly manner.
* Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails promptly, including enquiries related to NDIS supports, nursing services, new client intake, existing participant queries and rostering changes.
* Manage the reception area, ensuring it is clean, organised and presentable at all times.
* Receive, sort and distribute mail and deliveries.
* Maintain accurate records of appointments, meetings and office schedules.
* Provide administrative support as required (filing, data entry, photocopying, scanning, updating GAVAL Care Master Software, client folders, etc.).
* Ensure confidentiality of all client and organisational information.
About You
You will be early in your career but eager to learn, grow and represent GAVAL with professionalism and warmth. You will demonstrate:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills – clear, respectful and confident on the phone and in person.
* Above-average customer service skills and a natural ability to make people feel welcome and supported.
* Professional presentation and a caring, calm demeanour – especially when handling sensitive or complex calls.
* Strong computer literacy, including confident use of email, calendar and basic Office/Google applications.
* Good organisation and attention to detail – especially when recording information, messages and follow-up actions.
* Ability to handle various calls and competing priorities while staying polite and composed.
* A genuine interest in the NDIS, disability support and community services sector.
Desirable (or willingness to obtain)
* Relevant qualifications and previous experience in reception, customer service, call centre or front-of-house role.
* Experience or exposure to NDIS, community services, healthcare or allied health environments.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check and current Police Clearance.
