What is the role
We are currently on the hunt for an experienced Systems Engineer with a background working for an IT Systems Integrator or Managed Service Provider.
Working from our
Newcastle office
,
full-time (38 hours) Monday to Friday,
the role will be responsible in providing technical solutions for our clients, including problem resolution, product installation, configuration, testing and product/service recommendations.
With our front-line team taking care of triaging, you will service clients suited to your professional skillset, ensuring a positive experience for both you and the client.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Provide remote and onsite IT support
* Diagnose and resolve hardware/network issues
* Maintain system performance, reliability, and security
* Collaborate with clients on technical needs
* Recommend technologies and assist in selection
* Create design and technical documentation
* Support junior staff and escalate issues
* Monitor logs and respond to incidents
* Liaise with vendors as needed
* Improve and automate procedures
* Expand technical skills through training
* Log activities accurately
* Participate in on-call support
* Perform other related tasks
Who we are looking for
This is a customer-facing role who will need to have excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as being highly technical. The role requires a large amount of autonomy, so a candidate who has good time management and organisational skills will be heavily favoured.
Alongside, having great communication skills and vibrant personality, technical skills required for a successful candidate include:
* Windows Server setup, administration, support and maintenance
* Exchange Server setup, support and administration
* Entra ID – Office 365 / Intune
* Remote Desktop support and administration
* Veeam support and administration
* Basic network troubleshooting – experience with basic network protocols, any Cisco router experience will be highly regarded
* Basic telephone system support – any experience highly regarded
* Experience with remote support tools – TeamViewer, Remote Desktop Manager etc
* VMWare
* MSP experience is highly desirable
