Prince Engineering is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our on-site maintenance team, embedded within a valued client's facility in Portland, Victoria. In this key role, you'll oversee daily maintenance operations, plan and execute preventative strategies, respond to breakdowns, and ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment.
What You'll Do
* Plan, allocate, and oversee daily maintenance tasks, including preventive and reactive work.
* Assign tasks to technicians and monitor timely, high-quality completion.
* Supervise on-floor activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and workmanship standards.
* Work closely with the Spare Parts Administrator to manage procurement and availability of critical components.
* Ensure all permits to work are completed before work begins.
* Conduct and document daily safety checks, escalating any issues as needed.
* Communicate maintenance priorities, progress, and concerns to client stakeholders and internal teams.
What You Bring
* Proven leadership and coordination skills in a maintenance environment.
* Experience managing preventive maintenance and urgent repairs.
* A proactive approach to safety and compliance with workplace standards.
* Strong communication skills for working across technical, management, and administrative teams.
* Excellent organisational skills for tracking, documenting, and reporting maintenance and safety activities.
* Commitment to continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
* High level of computer literacy, including maintenance systems, email, and Microsoft Office.
Experience & Qualifications
* Certificate III trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, or similar (or equivalent technical certification).
* Solid technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
* Experience with maintenance management software
* Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including after-hours when required.
