Overview
Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is a government‐owned provider of early childhood education and care. As part of the Victorian Government's Best Start, Best Life reforms, ELV is establishing 50 early learning centres by 2032, with a 90‐place centre opening in 2026 at Wedderburn College that will provide long day care, Three and Four‐Year‐Old Kindergarten, and eventually Pre‐Prep. ELV delivers high‐quality, child‐centred care based on play and nature, with strong community connections and a commitment to child safety.
Location & Salary
Position: Early Childhood Teacher – Early Learning Victoria Dupitjin (Wedderburn College, Victoria).
Salary band: $72,847 – $116,906 per annum.
Role Purpose
Deliver high‐quality early childhood education aligned with the National Quality Standards, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and National Education and Care Law and Regulations. Lead the implementation of the educational program in funded kindergarten sessions, build positive relationships with families, children and colleagues, and maintain a safe, inclusive and compliant learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the centre, program and practices comply with all relevant laws, standards, child protection and child safe standards, and ELV policies and procedures.
* Plan, deliver and assess integrated teaching and learning strategies that respond to each child's individual needs.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices and their impact on children's learning and development.
* Conduct ongoing assessment of children's progress and provide insightful feedback to families.
* Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with staff, families and children to foster a supportive centre environment.
* Drive service improvement by analysing strengths and areas for growth in line with QIP.
* Support students on placement by integrating them into the setting and providing guidance and mentorship.
* Promote a learning culture through reflective practice and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) or equivalent qualification.
* Valid Victorian Teaching registration.
* Willingness and ability to consent to a police check.
* International police check if resident outside Australia for twelve months or more during the last ten years.
* Completion of Protecting Children mandatory reporting online learning.
* First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications.
* Food handling certificate and safe sleep training desirable.
* Experience delivering a play‐based high‐quality early childhood education program.
* Extensive knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework, Education Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework and child safe standards.
* Strong leadership, mentoring, communication and relationship‐building skills.
* Experience working with vulnerable children and families.
