About the Role Join a busy 60-Bed hospital environment where you'll support patients and families during emergency presentations. This role involves crisis response, domestic violence support, and child protection work, with flexible hours including weekends and on-call shifts. Key Details: Location : Katherine, NT Duration : Minimum 6 weeks with the possibility to extend Start Date : 15 th September 2025 Work setting : Hospital Emergency Department Other : Accommodation and travel Provided Key Responsibilities Deliver social work services in a hospital ED setting Provide crisis intervention and short-term support Conduct domestic and family violence risk assessments and safety planning Manage child protection concerns and mandatory reporting Liaise with relevant agencies and support networks Work extended hours, including weekends, after-hours, and 1pm-10pm shifts Requirements Tertiary qualification in Social Work Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Experience in hospital or emergency department settings Strong knowledge of domestic violence and child protection frameworks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call roster What's on Offer Travel reimbursement Accommodation provided during placement Access to pool car for work-related travel About Medacs Healthcare Medacs Healthcare is a leading global healthcare staffing provider, delivering high-quality locum, temporary and permanent healthcare professionals to public and private sectors.
