Communications Specialist Role
This role involves supporting the development and execution of social media content and fostering relationships with online audiences while maintaining consistent brand communication.
* Creating engaging, relevant, and timely content for Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
* Monitoring and responding to interactions with followers on multiple platforms.
* Designing and creating eye-catching posters and social media posts using Canva.
* Developing creative visuals to promote campaigns and events.
* Collaborating with the communications team to align social media efforts with broader campaigns and goals.
* Planning, designing, and sending email campaigns and newsletters to our audience.
* Reviewing and proofreading content for social media, emails, and other communication materials.
* Transcribing audio or video content from community meetings as needed.
This is a full-time position based primarily in Geelong, AU, requiring regular travel for meetings, events, and training.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to social media platforms, design software like Canva, and excellent proofreading skills. A strong ability to communicate with diverse audiences and manage multiple tasks is essential. Event coordination experience will also be an asset.
Required qualifications include a post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field, and at least two years of relevant experience. A valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and access to a vehicle are also required.
