Overview
The NWRH Social Work team practices collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary health team to support vulnerable people experiencing an acute medical event and likely to require lifestyle adjustment, and identified social care needs during and post their hospitalisation.
The Role
- The Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer will:
- Ensure patients who self-identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are supported and connected appropriately with relevant members of the Aboriginal community.
- Support the North West region of Tasmania to provide culturally sensitive, protected and accessible health care to patients who self-identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
You will need
- To identify as Aboriginal and have sound knowledge of the health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- To have experience with stakeholder engagement and consultation.
- To promote and champion health system improvements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 4 November 2025. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022.
