Role Description
The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site position based at Bayside Geelong Hotel & Apartments in Geelong, VIC. This role supports the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences across accommodation, dining, and events. Key responsibilities include supervising front-of-house teams, coordinating housekeeping and maintenance priorities, and monitoring service standards in all guest areas. The Assistant Manager will assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance feedback, as well as support event delivery and collaboration with the restaurant and conference teams. The role also involves handling guest inquiries and escalations, monitoring occupancy and revenue reports, and helping implement operational improvements and brand standards.
Qualifications
* Experience in hotel or hospitality management, with proven capability in day-to-day operations and team supervision.
* Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
* Solid organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
* Competence with hotel management systems, reservation platforms, and basic MS 365.
* Ability to lead, coach, and motivate diverse teams, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
* Relevant qualifications in hospitality, tourism, business, or a related field are highly regarded.
* Previous experience in a boutique or full-service hotel, events, or F&B operations is an advantage.
