Permanent Full Time | 40 hours per week with Monthly ADO HS6 | $55.91 per hour About the Role The Manager of Injury Management and WorkCover is responsible for overseeing the management of worker injuries and illness, from pre-employment and early intervention services through to claims and associated actions.
Through extensive experience and qualifications in the field of injury management, The Manager - Injury Management and WorCover will: Proactively oversee the delivery of an innovative, best practice and supportive injury management program to the organisation.
Provide leadership and expert mentoring to the Injury Management team.
Provide expert injury management advice and support to employees, managers and the executive group.
Develop and implement contemporary organisational wide injury management strategies, education, policies and procedures The Manager Injury Management and WorkCover is required to oversee delivery of services that are focussed on positive outcomes for both workers and the organisation.
As a leader the role may also be required to develop or contribute to projects that support the facilitation of the Grampians Health Vision, Purpose and Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities Lead the injury management function, offering subject matter expertise, interpreting statistical data, and advising executives and managers on strategy and complex claims.
Actively manage high-risk and complex injury cases when needed, oversee legal aspects of claims, and attend WorkCover conciliations and hearings.
Develop and enhance injury management and WorkCover strategies, ensuring continuous improvement in practices, risk reduction, and alignment with organizational goals.
Maintain active liaison with WorkCover agents and internal teams (HSW Management & Advisory) to support claim performance and respond to reported injuries.
Manage the Injury Management team's daily functions, including caseload distribution, mentoring, coaching, setting priorities, and triaging cases.
Oversee early intervention programs, update policies and procedures, and deliver relevant training to support best practices in injury management.
Skills & Experience A degree in Allied Health, Nursing, HR, or a related field, or extensive relevant experience; plus a recognised Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator qualification.
Significant leadership experience within Injury Management, Occupational Rehabilitation, or WorkCover environments.
In-depth knowledge of the Victorian Workers Compensation system and the WIRC Act 2013, with strong skills in case documentation and compliance.
High-level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities essential for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Postgraduate qualifications in Injury Management, Occupational Rehabilitation, or Business Management are advantageous.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with Victorian OHS legislation and regulations is beneficial.
