About The Role
This role is key in delivering relationship-based care that understands and values each individual as a whole person. Reporting to the Pastoral Care Manager, you will utilize and share your pastoral expertise, coaching staff and volunteers to support the emotional and spiritual needs and goals of clients, their families, and staff.
This is a permanent part-time role working Monday – Wednesday at our residential site at Erina.

Responsibilities
1. Provide pastoral care and support to residents, their families, and staff.
2. Be the point of contact for internal and external support/referral services.
3. Model positive behaviour and advocate for HammondCare’s mission, values, and Christian principles.
4. Share pastoral expertise and coach staff to support residents' spiritual needs.
5. Conduct assessments of resident/family needs using the HOPE assessment tool.
6. Develop spiritual care plans in collaboration with residential staff.
7. Participate in case management reviews and contribute to care plan development and evaluation.
8. Lead regular carer support groups.
9. Network with religious leaders and coordinate relevant care, resources, and activities.
10. Develop tailored resources and activities to enhance residents' spiritual and emotional wellbeing.
11. Build relationships with staff and volunteers to foster trust and effective communication.
12. Liaise with managers and participate in staff and case management meetings.
About You
1. Experience and understanding of dementia, caregiving impacts, and grief journeys.
2. Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement.
3. Theological or Pastoral Care qualifications and experience.
4. Proven ability to provide pastoral care and support wellbeing.
5. Excellent communication skills, including listening, compassion, and empathy.
6. Experience in team leadership and support.
7. Strong administrative and computer skills.
