Your role as Assistant Operations Manager:
A new and exciting opportunity has become available near Ryde as Assistant Operations Manager. You will support the operations manager and centre manager to oversee the day-to-day operational performance of the shopping centre, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for tenants, customers, contractors and stakeholders.

Your duties and responsibilities as Assistant Operations Manager:
* Support the Operations Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of the centre, including building services, maintenance, cleaning, waste management, and security.
* Coordinate daily inspections to ensure all areas of the centre meet operational, presentation, and safety standards.
* Supervise and liaise with contractors to ensure service levels, KPIs, and compliance standards are met.
* Assist in tender processes, contract renewals, and performance reviews.
Compliance & Safety:
* Ensure compliance with WHS, fire safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
* Support incident response, risk assessments, and emergency management procedures.
Sustainability & Efficiency:
* Assist in implementing sustainability initiatives and monitoring energy, water, and waste performance.
* Identify and recommend operational improvements to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Tenant & Stakeholder Relations:
* Build positive working relationships with tenants and centre management teams.
* Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests and operational concerns.
Administration & Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation.
* Prepare reports, budgets, and updates for the Operations Manager as required.
To be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in facilities or operations management, ideally within a retail environment.
* Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, fire, electrical, plumbing) and asset maintenance procedures.
* Strong understanding of WHS and statutory compliance requirements.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
* Intermediate to advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CMMS or property management systems).
* Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related discipline (preferred).
