• Job Title: Wood Machinist (12 Month Contract)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team on a 12-month contract. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our planing, finger joining, and other processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain various woodworking machines, including planers, finger joiners, and moulders.
* Cut, shape, and mould wood into industry-standard forms using a range of equipment.
* Select and fit blades, cutter heads, and guides to machine timber accurately.
* Grind, hone, and sharpen machinery parts as needed.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* A Trade Qualification Certificate III in Wood Machining or equivalent experience.
* Prior experience working with Moulders, End Matchers, Dockers, and Finger Joiners is highly advantageous.
* A basic understanding of computer programs related to wood machining.
* An excellent attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
