About the role
Baird & McGregor Lawyers is seeking a motivated Property Lawyer to join our team in Ballarat. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for lawyers at any stage of their career - from newly admitted solicitors to experienced practitioners - to develop their skills and contribute to the success of a respected regional firm with offices in Ballarat and Daylesford.
You'll work on a diverse range of property matters, with the support of an experienced team. This role provides autonomy, client interaction, and the chance to build a rewarding career in property law.
What you'll be doing
* Advising clients on a broad spectrum of property-related matters, including residential and commercial conveyancing, leasing, and property development.
* Drafting and reviewing contracts of sale, leases, and other property documentation.
* Liaising with clients, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions.
* Staying up-to-date with property law legislation.
* Delivering exceptional client service and building strong professional relationships.
* Manage multiple files efficiently and ensure compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with other practice areas (e.g., Wills & Estates, Commercial Law) for matters involving cross-disciplinary issues.
What we're looking for
* A Law degree and admission (or eligibility for admission) to practice in Victoria.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities.
* Ability to manage deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
* Familiarity with PEXA and property law processes.
* A proactive, client-focused attitude and commitment to high-quality service.
