About the role
We are currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join our Unite32 team. Laing O'Rourke has been appointed by the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) as the Delivery Partner for the $7.1bn Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Venues Infrastructure Program. This achievement is celebrated with our joint venture partner AECOM, as part of the Unite32 consortium, a strategic team formed specifically to deliver the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. Key Responsibilities
* Fulfilling the requirements of the commercial function including optimising margin while protecting the business.
* Lead all Pre‐Contract commercial activities on a complex project or range of projects.
* Work closely with project and commercial leaders to provide strategic commercial direction in the management of project goals.
* Assist with implementing and managing the procurement plan to support project schedules, whilst selecting and preparing the standard forms of supply chain agreements.
* Manage contractual disputes and risk mitigation.
* Ensure accurate and timely, weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting of project costs.
About you
* Tertiary qualification in Commercial Law, Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
* Experience working on major construction projects including projects in the defence sector.
* Results driven and possess a collaborative leadership approach with an ability to demonstrate a high level of technical and negotiation skills.
* Strong communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
