Job Title: Senior Director Reform Implementation
Job Description:
The Department of Mining and Energy (DME) is seeking a Senior Director to lead its energy reform initiatives. The successful candidate will drive the development of policies and regulations that deliver affordable, reliable, and secure energy supplies for Territory families, businesses, and industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee detailed legislative work to shape the Territory Electricity Market design.
2. Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to drive comprehensive reform efforts.
3. Lead critical work packages, engage stakeholders for insights, and craft high-level policy documents to guide government decisions.
4. Ensure business continuity and foster innovation across public and private sectors in the energy landscape.
Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in leading complex policy/regulatory projects and legislative reforms.
* Highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to conduct independent research and produce high-quality advice on complex issues.
* Political acumen, cultural competence, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Capacity to build organisational capability and deliver responsive, effective change management.
* Tertiary qualifications in economics, business, or public policy.
* Substantial experience in regulatory, technical, governance, or change management roles within electricity markets.
