We're seeking a proactive and experienced Work Health and Safety (WHS) Business Partner to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you'll be part of a team to drive a culture of safety across the City by ensuring WHS compliance for a dedicated client base and across the organisation.
As a trusted advisor, change agent and subject matter expert, you will take the lead in implementing and maintaining the City's WHS Program - championing systems and processes that keep our workplaces safe, compliant, and aligned with legislative requirements.
Day-to-day, you'll conduct systematic workplace reviews and audits, provide expert guidance to managers and staff, and play a key role in embedding best practice health and safety across all operations. You'll also design and deliver engaging and best practice WHS processes and training in person and online, to build capability and confidence at every level of the organisation.
With the ability to act decisively and deliver outcomes, you'll be a trusted partner who ensures the safety and wellbeing of our people is always the top priority. Collaboration will be central to your success - working closely with internal teams, external agencies such as WorkSafe WA and WorkCover, and our contractor network to foster a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Accountabilities
* Advise, guide and mentor Leaders and Worker Safety and Health Representatives on best practice health and safety.
* Work within the City's WHS Management System and WHS Service Delivery Model to conduct site inspections and audits to improve Workplace Safety and Health.
* Report on performance (compliance and non-compliance) in terms of the WHS audit program as required to ensure legal compliance with all relevant legislation.
* Conduct incident and hazard investigations and Risk Assessments, including comprehensive formal investigation and risk assessment reports.
* Analyse WHS performance data and advise managers and coordinators using an evidence based approach, i.e. hazard, risk and injury management.
* Attend operational Toolbox/Team meetings to address and update on all WHS and injury management issues.

The successful candidate will have the following
* A recognised tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety (minimum Certificate IV in WHS)
* Demonstrated experience in a similar position
* Experience in interpreting Acts of Parliament/Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
* First Aid Certificate
* Safety Awareness Construction Training – White Card
* A satisfactory National Police Certificate
* Current C Class Driver's Licence

The salary for this position is from $94,386.53 - $112,499.22 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
