**About the role**
The Manager, Industry Development and Investment is responsible for driving the growth and sustainability of South Australia's visitor economy by fostering investment opportunities and developing demand-driving tourism experiences. The role involves working collaboratively with the tourism industry, key stakeholders, and government partners to enhance industry capabilities and secure investments that support tourism development across the state.
A primary focus of the role is facilitating industry capability development through programs such as the Experience Development Program and the Distribution Ready Program, which supports the creation of high-quality tourism products and experiences. Additionally, the role builds strong relationships with stakeholders to attract and enable investment into South Australian tourism projects.
The Manager, Industry Development and Investment also contributes to sector-specific projects and strategies that align with the objectives of the Destination Development Unit within the South Australian Tourism Commission. The role supports initiatives that strengthen the competitiveness of South Australia's tourism industry and position the state as a premier tourism destination.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership and guidance to South Australian tourism operators to increase their business capabilities and experience saleability within all distribution channels.
- Actively work with state government, local government, and regional tourism authorities to partner and leverage experience development initiatives.
- Undertake research and identify product and experiences gaps and work with key stakeholders to implement solutions.
- Increase South Australia's experience presence throughout domestic and international distribution channels.
- Develop strong relationships with key government and private partners to influence conversion of South Australian tourism experiences.
- Work with relevant industry partners and other government agencies to present tourism investment opportunities at events and to investors.
- Actively search for and develop relationships with key tourism industry stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for tourism operators across managed regions for all experience development support and enquiries.
This role is offered as a full-time, 5-year, non-executive contract at a salary classification level of ASO6 ($98,478 - $104,165 per year)
