About the opportunity
In this role as the WHS Manager, you will partner with our Leadership team to lead and champion a positive safety culture throughout the organisation and provide guidance as to what forms WHS best practice.
Your primary objective will be to oversee, develop, monitor, and enhance City of Darwin's Work Health and Safety Management system to achieve a proactive safety culture within the organisation as well as manage the organisation's key risks to ensure compliance with WHS obligations.
Working within a collaborative environment, you will gain the buy-in from multiple stakeholders to deliver positive change. Your outstanding communication skills will be paramount as you influence, engage, coach and mentor. As an inspiring and results-focused individual, you will motivate your team and share your experience. Naturally, you have a comprehensive understanding of WHS and are keen to build capability in others.
What's needed?
* A Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification
* ICAM Lead Investigator or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS leadership role
* National Police Check
* Class C Divers Licence
