At North Queensland Women's Legal Service, our mission is to empower women by providing them with access to justice and promoting change within the justice system.
We cater to women who are often mothers and primary carers, facing financial constraints and experiencing domestic violence. Our team of support staff is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of these vulnerable women.
We have an exciting opportunity for a professional to join us as a Client Advocate in Cairns or Townsville. This role will involve working closely with clients to provide high-quality support, undertaking community education and networking, and carrying out administrative duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing effective support to clients to engage with their legal matters, including discrete and/or ongoing case management
* Conducting client interviews to identify and assess clients' non-legal needs and building rapport with clients
* Delivering high-quality risk assessment and safety planning
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file systems and other records in accordance with internal procedures
* Responding to enquiries in a timely manner
* Providing services at court, outreach clinics, and other locations as required
