**About the Opportunity**

SafeWork SA (SWSA) is responsible for providing work health and safety, public safety and state-based industrial relations services across South Australia. As a regulator, Investigators and Inspectors ensure work health and safety, and public safety standards are met and appropriate action is taken when breaches of laws are detected.

The primary purpose of the Secretariat is to coordinate and support South Australia's representatives on national and state-based committees and meetings; and coordinate key priorities of the Strategic Policy and Legislative Services Team. The Secretariat holds a position of trust and supports the Regulator and Committee members to build strong working relationships across Australia in order to identify any emerging issues or risks. The successful applicant will lead secretarial support for the Chairs of the South Australian Asbestos Action Plan Strategic their members including the preparation of high-level and timely documentation, forward planning and monitoring key priorities.

The successful applicant will identify, research, develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures and protocols to ensure the successful coordination of the South Australian representative's participation at national meetings.

You will be able to manage high volumes of work and meet tight deadlines whilst retaining objectivity and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information and material.

You will have proven ability to interact and engage with stakeholders in a respectful manner that leads to successful outcomes, uphold SafeWork SA's values at all times and empower others around you to behave in a similar manner.

SafeWork SA is a business unit within Attorney-General's Department and is responsible for providing work, health and safety, public safety, and state-based industrial relations services across South Australia. As a regulator, our Investigators and Inspectors ensure work, health and safety, and public safety standards are met, and appropriate action is taken when breaches of laws are detected. We also help people better understand their work health and safety responsibilities.

**Special Conditions for Employment**

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

Some out of hours work may be required

Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required
