Sydney Local Health District seeks a skilled Occupational Therapist to lead the delivery of occupational therapy services to individuals with dementia and their carers.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level clinical expertise, knowledge, and service delivery within ambulatory care and community settings. This includes working with people with dementia and their families to develop effective strategies to manage behavioral and psychosocial symptoms.
The role involves managing a team and ensuring that occupational therapy services are delivered in accordance with best practice standards. The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in the treatment of people with dementia, as well as excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level clinical expertise and knowledge in occupational therapy services for people with dementia
* Lead and manage a team to deliver occupational therapy services in ambulatory care and community settings
* Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for individuals with dementia
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA
* Experience at Level 2 or higher in occupational therapy, preferably in the treatment of people with dementia
* Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in the provision of occupational therapy services for people with dementia
