About the Role
The Senior Engineer designs and delivers end‐to‐end data solutions to support business intelligence and vision making, including critical regulatory and strategic projects. This role works in a multi‐disciplinary squad to source, extract, move and model data, to build data assets and create reporting solutions. The position is a permanent role located at Manyata Tech Park with work hours from 7 AM to 4 PM.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to system and application design aligned with ANZ technical standards.
* Participate in end‐to‐end development, from requirements to secure data delivery.
* Ensure adherence to ANZ Group policies, Information & Insights strategy and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain data quality through governance and control standards.
* Provide timely support for production systems.
* Follow standard change and problem management processes.
* Offer guidance through code reviews and technical leadership.
* Mentor peers and team members to upskill and share knowledge.
Qualifications
* Experience designing and creating end‐to‐end data warehousing solutions with a broad technology stack, including orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Spark and Astronomer.
* Strong proficiency in RDBMS platforms, with expertise in query optimisation, indexing strategies, execution‐plan analysis and performance tuning.
* Programming expertise: strong experience in Python following object‐oriented principles.
* Experience with Test‐Driven Development, containerisation, object‐storage solutions, APIs and CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient data solutions.
* Stakeholder engagement and strong problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to constructively challenge existing processes and procedures to drive efficiency and innovation.
* Strong written, verbal and presentation abilities and proven capability to influence and collaborate across teams.
* Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
