We're looking for a Knowledge Management (KM) Researcher to join our central Legal Research Team, providing high quality legal, research and analysis to colleagues across the firm. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys deep research, problem solving and supporting teams with complex legal research queries and analysis, directly aligned to client work.
You'll also play an important part in using and developing best practice for our legal AI tools and helping to embed these in our workflows, so experience in using AI is essential.
What You'll Be Doing
* Providing a full range of research services, producing accurate, relevant and insightful legal, company and people research. Working closely with the KM Research Manager to deliver high‐quality research support across the firm.
* Delivering bespoke current awareness updates to support legal horizon scanning and strategic planning.
* Using internal systems, legal databases and specialist resources to produce clear, accessible research outputs.
* Taking responsibility for handling each research request professionally and ensuring a positive experience for colleagues.
* Working collaboratively with the wider team to manage the central research inbox and call logger, ensuring work is completed or delegated appropriately.
* Keeping accurate records of research activity and correctly recording any disbursement costs.
* Meeting agreed service levels and proactively raising any concerns around deadlines or capacity, offering solutions where possible.
* Using a variety of AI tools to support research, improve efficiency and enhance the quality of outputs.
As our ideal candidate for this role, you'll have
* A degree or postgraduate qualification in Information and Library Management, Information Science or a related discipline.
* Experience working in an Information Services or Knowledge Management environment. Strong knowledge of key legal research databases.
* Confidence using AI tools to support and enhance research activities.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly and appropriately for different audiences.
* The ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* A client‐focused approach and commitment to delivering high‐quality support.
