About The Role

, the Senior Service Automation Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimising the University's IT service operations, while driving the strategic transition toward an automation first, self-service oriented delivery model. This role ensures the stability, performance, and continual improvement of core IT support functions including incident, request, and change management while leveraging automation to deliver scalable, proactive, and user-centric solutions. As a key leader in daily service desk operations, the role identifies, prioritises, and implements automation initiatives and works in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance service consistency, and reduce manual overhead.
The role also fosters a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and operational maturity across the IT environment, supporting staff through ongoing change and preparing teams for future service delivery models. Bringing together operational oversight and transformational capability, the Senior Service Automation Lead plays a critical role in ensuring ACU's IT services are resilient, responsive, and aligned with the University's digital strategy.

What We Offer
The University pursues an excellence agenda and offers an environment where staff are welcomed and safe, and valued through development, participation and involvement.
Total remuneration valued to $160,095 - $170,833 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $135,360 - $144,538 (pro rata) pa (HEW 9), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
