One of our clients - a steel fabrication company, delivering high-quality solutions for the construction, manufacturing, and engineering sectors is seeking a motivated and detail-orientedProject Managerto join their team to ensure projects are delivered accurately, on time, and to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
* Take full ownership of steel projects from the award stage through to final handover.
* Develop and manage detailed project schedules, specifically tracking milestones for shop drawing approvals, fabrication timelines, and site delivery.
* Ensure all project deliverables are executed within scope and budget while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
* Proactively monitor project performance and manage technical or logistical risks throughout the fabrication and installation phases.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination
* Serve as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, and internal teams, including sales, engineering, and operations.
* Facilitate regular project meetings and provide transparent progress and commercial updates to the Managing Director.
* Coordinate with external vendors and subcontractors to ensure seamless project flow and efficient resource allocation.
On-site Operational Management
* Provide on-site support to resolve technical challenges, logistical bottlenecks, or coordination issues during the rigging and installation phase.
* Ensure all on-site activities comply with established safety protocols and operational standards.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including variation tracking and compliance reporting.
Risk & Quality Management
* Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
* Ensure project deliverables meet required quality and compliance standards.
* Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
* 5+ years of Project Management experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in structural steel, commercial construction, or heavy engineering.
* Proven ability to manage post-sales project delivery and navigate complex on-site coordination issues.
* Strong technical understanding of construction processes and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, especially in dynamic site environments
Education & Background
* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is regarded but not essential.
* They value proven industry experience and encourage applications from candidates with a relevant Trade or Drafting background (e.g., Boilermaker or Draftsman) who have progressed into project management.
