Clinical Lead - Voluntary Assisted Dying
This is a Fixed Term sessional appointment for 24 months at 8 sessions per fortnight (0.4FTE) with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service.
FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than **** square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.

Position Description: Provides strategic leadership and direction for the SMHS Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Practitioner service, including direct patient care, education, stakeholder engagement and expert advice.
The position holder works closely with the SMHSEnd of Life Choices and Voluntary Assisted Dying Clinical Nurse Consultant and the Director Clinical Services to guide the ongoing development of a safe culture and sustainable VAD program across the organisation.
Promotes patient safety and quality of care.
Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.
In collaboration with the Director Clinical Services and other Consultants works to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets.
Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
