We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Manager who is eager to be part of this South Australian success story based on site at our Murray Bridge facility.
Reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with a small tight-knit team, we are looking for someone who has ideas and leadership that will truly make a difference. This hands-on role will provide financial leadership to the business and the team. We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented financial expert to join our team.
The Role
This is the perfect role for someone with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for accuracy in financial reporting. You’ll play a key role in supporting audits, streamlining financial processes, and working across teams to maintain Big River Pork’s financial health.
As Finance Manager, you will:
- Manage the daily functions of the finance department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, fixed assets, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, cash forecasting, and revenue/expenditure variance analysis.
- Prepare and coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring inputs are consolidated accurately and on time for review by the Head of Finance.
- Assist in preparing statutory financial statements.
- Assist with external audit queries, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and policies.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, forecasts, weekly reports, monthly dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Undertake review and timely submission of BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax returns.
- Support the Head of Finance in implementing financial policies aligned with company goals.
- Support governance, compliance, and risk management efforts under the guidance of the Head of Finance.
- Champion process improvement and best practice implementation across finance operations.
- Drive clarity and action through timely and meaningful financial reporting and analysis, mentor, develop, and support a small finance team, fostering capability and alignment with company goals.
What you will bring to the role, highly regarded experience and key qualifications include:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. CA or CPA qualification preferred.
- Robust commercial acumen and stakeholder influencing capability.
- Proven track record of producing decision-ready financial material.
- Knowledge/experience of manufacturing environments or primary industry will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge/experience of Power BI and dashboard creation will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge/understanding of AASB standards and Carbon Accounting will be highly regarded.
- Initiative, energy, and an eye for detail, with an ability to think laterally and to problem solve.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
