As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Manager to lead our administrative, clinical support, and operational functions with confidence and compassion.
About the Role
The Practice Manager will be the operational heartbeat of the clinic—responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to‑day running of the practice while supporting doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, admin staff, and leadership. This role requires someone who is proactive, solutions-focused, and able to drive performance, culture, and patient experience.
You will work closely with the Directors and the Health Nexus leadership team to implement systems, optimise workflows, support growth initiatives, and ensure the clinic remains compliant with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Oversee daily practice operations, ensuring efficient and patient-focused service delivery
* Manage rostering, workflows, and front-of-house operations
* Maintain compliance with Medicare, RACGP accreditation, and industry standards
Financial & Performance Management
* Oversee billing accuracy, reporting, and Medicare item optimisation
* Manage budgets, invoicing, accounts, and financial KPIs
Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and support the reception, admin, and nursing teams
* Drive culture, communication, and staff development
* Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training processes
Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with GPs, nurses, allied health, and external partners
* Assist in GP and staff retention strategies
* Support patient communication initiatives, recalls, reminders, and quality improvement programs
Systems & Process Improvement
* Maintain and optimise clinical software systems (Best Practice)
* Implement effective policies, SOPs, and workflows
* Support digital transformation and operational efficiency initiatives
About You
* You are an organised, confident, people-focused leader who thrives in a busy environment. You enjoy problem‑solving, improving systems, and bringing out the best in your team.
* Previous experience as a Practice Manager or Senior Medical Receptionist in a GP or allied health setting
* Strong understanding of Medicare billing, CDM workflows, and clinic operations
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
* Proficiency in medical practice software (Best Practice highly regarded)
* Experience working in a multi-GP clinic
* Ability to analyse data and improve clinic KPIs
* Knowledge of accreditation processes and compliance frameworks
