The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Technical Officer‐Plumber to provide a critical role at Loddon Prison and Middleton.
About The Business Unit
Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum‐Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and also the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.
About The Role
The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of all plumbing infrastructure, building condition and maintenance as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team. An important facet of the role involves liaison with internal staff and external contracted service providers with particular attention to service delivery and outcomes required under the essential service maintenance contract, as well as compliance with OH&S requirements. The role is also responsible for providing critical information and reporting on the prisons plumbing infrastructures condition and recommending improvement / preventative maintenance.

Compensation
VPS Grade 4: $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuation.
Some Of Your Duties Will Include
* Provide plumbing infrastructure expertise to the Facilities Supervisors, including technical operation of all preventative and reactive maintenance plumbing.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records for all building and systems equipment.
* Manage and coordinate external contract services.
* Ensure compliance with all regulations and codes.
About You
* Demonstrate experience in an industrial / facilities maintenance environment.
* Hold or working towards a current qualification and registration as a Registered Plumber.
* Be licensed in all Main Classes (excluding fire protection) and in Type A gas appliance.
* Hold a current Victorian Driver's Licence.
