Job Description
The Field Sales Representative will have the following responsibilities:
o Managing and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients
o Understanding client's current and future needs, proposing appropriate solutions, products, and services
o Maintaining regular contact with assigned customers, ensuring optimal service levels and customer satisfaction
o Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and staying informed about competitor strategies
o Negotiate prices and collaborate with support staff to ensure customer retention and continued business
o Conduct presentations and coordinate the preparation of sales proposals, tenders, bids, contracts, and account management plans
o Participate in sales promotions, campaigns, and events to drive business growth
o Confidently and knowledgeably handle customer complaints, taking necessary actions to resolve issues to the customer's expectations
o Build long-term business relationships to leverage revenue and promote the business as a quality supplier
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Field Sales Representative role will ideally have the following key skills & qualities:
o B2B sales or account management experience, or experience in the express freight or logistics industry
o Demonstrated ability to achieve sales growth through superior negotiating skills
o Extensive relationship-building skills developed from working in various busy service industries
o Experience in sustainability, renewable energy, life science or health care is desirable but not mandatory
o Ability to quickly learn product and service knowledge to effectively translate customer needs into solutions
o Attention to detail
o Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a busy team
o Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to use database management systems
o Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
o Current driver's licence
