About the Role
This Systems Engineering position involves delivering System Engineering outcomes across various business units.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish, maintain, and control all requirements.
* Trace requirements upwards and downwards to higher and lower-level requirements and verification procedures.
* Manage and maintain the Functional Block List (FBL), Assembly Block List (ABL), and Product Block List (PBL).
* Ensure Mission and Support System requirements are aligned without conflicts.
* Perform systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and management, system safety, integration, trade studies, configuration audits, verification, and validation activities.
* Assist in developing, preparing, and delivering all Engineering Design Interfaces and Documentation (DIDs) and supporting activities.
* Support risk analysis to identify, monitor, and mitigate key risks.
* Collaborate with the engineering and broader team to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
* Work with contributing parties, including subcontractors, to ensure the quality of deliverables and exchanges with stakeholders.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (mandatory).
* Meet Engineers Australia criteria for Chartered Professional Engineer (desirable).
* Proficient experience in systems engineering, preferably with a couple of years in system engineering.
* Solid general background in Systems Engineering, with experience preferably within the defence sector.
* Knowledge of appropriate engineering development methodologies and strategies.
* Familiarity with tools like Enovia (configuration management), System Architect (system modelling), DOORS (requirements management), or equivalent tools.
* Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, research, and project management skills.
* Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process.
* Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and resolve disputes with internal and external stakeholders.
* Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Organised and able to meet deadlines.
* Strong organisational and communication skills due to physically distributed teams.
* To be successful in this role, you must be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance as an Australian Citizen.
