Wallum Community Preschool is a not-for-profit, community-operated service that has proudly supported children and families across the Tweed Shire since 2005. About the Role
* Part-time position: Wednesday–Friday, 9:00am – 2:00pm
* Fixed-term contract (Terms 2–4, with potential for extension)
* Working with children aged 3–5 years within a high-quality educational program
Key Responsibilities:
* Build strong, respectful, and responsive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
* Contribute to the planning and implementation of a play-based, child-led curriculum informed by children’s interests, strengths, and voices
* Engage in ongoing observation, documentation, and reflective practice aligned with the EYLF
* Promote children’s sense of belonging, wellbeing, and identity
* Implement inclusive and responsive practices to support children with diverse needs
* Assist in setting up and packing away engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments
* Participate in collaborative team practices and professional dialogue
* Uphold and model safe, ethical, and professional practice at all times
About You
* Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
* Demonstrated understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
* Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, mandatory reporting, and NSW Child Safe Standards
* Current and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
* Current Child Protection Training and National Child Safe Training
You will also demonstrate:
* Effective communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues
* Ability to work collaboratively while showing initiative and professional judgement
* Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting children with diverse needs (essential)
* Experience in a community-based preschool setting (desirable)
