About the Role
Join our fast‐paced newsroom as a Supervising Producer, where you will play a key role in shaping the editorial direction of live and breaking news coverage. Working closely with senior newsroom leadership, you will lead a team of producers, drive compelling and accurate storytelling, and ensure high‐quality news programming reaches audiences quickly and responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the editorial direction of news programmes, making key decisions on story selection, angles and programme structure.
* Guide and coordinate a team of producers to deliver engaging, accurate and timely news content.
* Assign and prioritise tasks across the production team to ensure programmes go on air smoothly and at the highest standard.
* Monitor external news sources and emerging stories to ensure fast, accurate reporting of breaking news.
* Work closely with studio teams, editors and newsroom stakeholders to deliver high‐quality live and recorded programming.
* Provide editorial feedback on scripts and support producers and reporters to strengthen storytelling and clarity.
* Ensure all content complies with legal, editorial and organisational policies and, when required, escalates any issues.

* Experienced newsroom professional with strong editorial judgement and a passion for news and current affairs.
* Confident leader who can guide and support producers in a high‐pressure, fast‐moving environment.
* Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with newsroom, studio and editorial teams.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
* Deep understanding of Australian news and politics, with awareness of international current affairs.
* Technically confident with production systems and newsroom workflows.
* Detail‐oriented with a solid understanding of legal and editorial standards in news reporting.
