This role offers the chance to influence how health services are designed and delivered across one of NSW's most diverse and rapidly expanding regions. You will work closely with clinicians, executives, and NSW Health partners to develop evidence-based service plans that respond to community needs and future demand. The position focuses on creating sustainable models of care, improving access to services, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. It is an opportunity to lead meaningful planning projects that make a genuine difference—enhancing patient experience today while preparing the system for the challenges ahead. You will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking Planning team committed to high quality outcomes and innovation. The role is primarily based at Eastern Campus, Liverpool Hospital, with occasional travel to other SWSLHD sites to stay connected to district wide priorities. The position operates Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements available through negotiation with your manager.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and forward‐thinking health planner with a deep understanding of health systems, service delivery models, and planning frameworks. They bring proven leadership and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, enabling them to collaborate confidently with executives, clinicians, community partners, and NSW Health agencies. With strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail, they can translate complex data into clear, actionable advice that informs high‐quality health service plans and major redevelopment initiatives. They are an effective communicator, a skilled negotiator, and a supportive mentor who fosters capability and innovation within the Planning team. Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
1. Extensive professional experience in health services planning, including processes to support asset strategic planning and infrastructure development.
2. Demonstrated experience in leading, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating services at a strategic, facility, program and service level, with demonstrated experience in developing partnerships and working effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including clinicians, community members, other agencies and managers.
3. Sound knowledge and experience in applying NSW Government and Ministry of Health planning frameworks, funding models, directions, priorities and processes. This includes extensive experience in the use of health planning computer-based applications and information systems.
4. High level leadership, communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
