Senior Health and Safety Partner
About the Role
The purpose of this Senior Health and Safety Partner role is to collaborate with various stakeholders to implement and support safety and wellbeing strategies across multiple programs in Western Australia. This position involves coaching, guiding, and influencing others to strengthen their capabilities and enhance risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with local leadership to oversee health and safety compliance at all work sites, ensuring that policies, procedures, and systems are in place to manage risks and meet regulatory requirements.
* Implement projects supporting critical risk management and continuous improvement in safety and wellbeing.
* Lead incident investigations, reporting activities, and support workplace risk assessments as needed.
* Conduct internal safety and wellbeing audits, monitoring non-conformance in areas such as fire inspections and asbestos registers.
* Monitor contractor and third-party health and safety compliance and escalate issues to internal stakeholders as necessary; Property and Fleet.
* Deliver safety and wellbeing training, collaborating with Learning & Development for accredited or specialized training like HSR, First Aid (including Mental Health FA), and CPR.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (or a related field).
* Demonstrated understanding of current legislative requirements within workplace health safety and environment.
* Demonstrated experience in monitoring a safety management system in a geographically dispersed organization operating in multi-site locations.
* Experience in similar Health and Safety partnering roles in medium to large-sized organizations.
* A self-motivated, results-oriented individual with proven experience in building relationships through a partnership approach.
* Proven experience in supporting a strong safety culture resulting in improved safety performance.
* Experience in a similar position within a Human Services organization or as an Allied Health Professional with safety risk management experience preferred.
