About The Role

Our Children's Crossing Supervisors play a vital role in our community, helping students and parents cross the road safely during peak school times. It is a great way to stay active, connect with and be a part of the Geelong community.

As a Children's Crossing Supervisor, you will be required to supervise one of the 189 crossings within the City of Greater Geelong. The crossings operate Monday to Friday morning and afternoon; shifts vary from 30 to 45 minutes to 1 hour in the morning and afternoon, depending on the crossing. As a casual, your shifts will vary depending on availability with a minimum of 15 hours per fortnight. You will ideally have availability both morning and afternoon across the week.

Casual positions are available across all regions of the Geelong municipality.

Work type: Casual

Classification: Band 1 $40.62 per hour + super (includes casual loading)

Responsibilities

* Provide supervision and education to ensure the safety of children and all members of the public using children's crossings.
* Follow set procedures, guidelines, and OH&S processes.
* Undertake all duties in a manner which promotes effective teamwork and high-quality customer service.
* Report OH&S issues, Children's Crossing maintenance issues and traffic and parking offences.
* You will undertake an induction and training prior to commencing in the role and will be supported with ongoing training throughout the year.

Qualifications

* Meet pre-employment medical and functional assessment requirements including a mobility, audiometry and drug and alcohol test.
* Hold a Valid Working with Children's Check.
* Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
