Building upon an already outstanding product team, we\u2019re now hiring for a crucial recent Principal Engineer role with one of our well-funded and heartily post-revenue start-up clients. What You\u2019ll Do
- Lead technical design and implementation across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
- Architect scalable, cloud-native systems designed for growth and enterprise reliability.
- Collaborate closely with the CTO and product team to build high-impact features.
- Set engineering standards, lead design reviews, and ensure best practices in performance, reliability, and security.
- Mentor fellow engineers and help shape the engineering culture.
- Improve internal tooling, CI/CD, observability, and operational workflows.
You\u2019ll Bring
- 10+ years in software engineering with proven experience building and scaling full-stack enterprise platforms.
- Experience designing and delivering distributed systems, data models, APIs, and end-to-end applications.
- Extensive experience running python backends at scale
- Expertise in cloud architecture and IaC tools like AWS, CDK, Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and performance optimisation.
- A strong product mindset riven to build what matters and iterate based on real-world use.
Nice to have
- Startup or scale-up experience.
- Experience with LLMs, speech technologies, or AI/ML systems.
- Public technical work (GitHub, blog posts, talks, etc).
- Frontend: TypeScript, React
- Infrastructure: AWS, CDK, Terraform
- Transcription: Proprietary fine-tuned STT
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions
